Character Personality: The ever gentle and loving Orihime. She is one of the sweetest characters introduced in the series. Orihime, is the innocence that no one wants to taint. When you first meet her in the manga, she appears to me a bit of a ditz and slightly clumsy..and she has her moments. For instance, she goes off into detailed, bizarre day dreams that cause her to talk aloud and make her look rather odd to everyone else. This is one of the many traits of Orihime. She appears to be a ditz who has bizarre day dreams and the weirdest, most disgusting taste in food but there is so much more to her. She is one of the characters that develops as the series moves on.

Orihime is also a very smart girl. She is the third best in her class and knows when to say things at the right moment. Meaning, if there was someone who needed advice, she would gladly give it. She knows more than she lets on to people and she keeps it that way because Orihime wants no one to worry about her or question her. Orihime is always more concerned for other people than her own well being.

 

Orihime as I said, is a very kind soul. She would gladly sacrifice herself to ensure that her friends and innocent people would be safe. And she has done that. Orihime has proved over and over again that she has so much love for people and tries her best to make everyone happy even when she is not happy with herself.  Orihime has the type of personality to have you feel loved and welcomed into her life with open arms regardless of what you did. The few exceptional moments were during her stay in Huedo Mundo as well as seeing Ichigo’s hollow but she never mentioned hating them, only having fear and pity for them. She is very honest as well and hardly ever lies unless it is to protect those she cares about. Orihime will gladly open her arms to anyone in need even if it meant that she got nothing out of it or lost something. She is faithful to her friends and has so much confidence in them that it takes so much for her faith in them to waver. I believe this is both a good and bad trait. She shows so much love but it gets her hurt in the end.

 When it comes to her love for Ichigo, she keeps it silent though it is still obvious (not to him) because she does not want to be a burden, especially with him. It is always someone else’s happiness before her own.

 

Ichigo has become a huge influence in Orihime’s life since Ichigo killed her brother when he was a hollow. She gain powers, her love for Ichigo only getting stronger as well as she began to become more mature for her age. For Orihime, Ichigo was like a hero for her. Someone she could look to when she needed help when she did not want to worry Tatsuki.

 

Even with all this, Orihime can be a bit of a cry baby sometimes and weak because she is always looking for Ichigo or her friends to protect her. It is not intentional but she unconsciously seeks them because they always come. She does not have a lot of strength or weapons like the others do, she mostly uses her own powers for healing them.

 

 With that, Orihime is a bit sensitive as well. She feels herself to be weak compared to her group of friends and because of that her self confidence is never high. Orihime is humble but also self conscious whether on her body or her personality because she wishes to be stronger and confident, Especially so she may get Ichigo to notice her. Whether she realizes it or not though Orihime still has a way with gaining the attention of other through her kindness, crazy imagination, weird food, etc etc. It is not until recent chapters that Orihime has slowly been gaining her independence from relying on her friends to help her. She is a determind person when she puts her mind to it. Orihime slowly is growing stronger. She has a vivid imagination that can be that of a child or a grown woman.

Character Abilities:  Orihime is a human of course with supernatural powers. Come on, this is Bleach. Orihime as a human is nothing special. She is not the most athletic but she is also not out of shape. She does not have heightened senses minus sensing riatsu and hollow.

 

Her non-human-esc abilities all involve the shun shun rikka. Or her Flower pins. Each ability can do different damange depending on who she summons. Her attacks are mostly defensive and healing but she does have Tsubaki as her offensive attacker which needs more work.

Character Weaknesses:  Orihime has always been concluded as the “weakest” of the group. They treat her to her name, like a princess that is fragile. Orihime holds her heart on her sleeve and that can be both a weakness and strength. It can be a weakness because she tries to give people the benefit of the doubt, depending on who you are.  With this and her over-filled heart for those she loves, all her friends care about her and are protective so she has no chance to really fight because of this, when she is a fight or flight situation- it turns to flight a majority of the time because she feels helpless.

 

Orihime also has not used her abilities with her pins to their full potential. There seems to be more to her ability that has yet to be said in canon but she is still learning more about her powers and understanding them. Orihime also can only use so much of her power, depending on if it is offensive or defensive that takes away from her stamina. She does not grow weak easily but if she uses a lot of her power, she does grow weak because she is still very much human.

[ SOUL CAMPAIGN SECTION ]

What are the abilities that your character will retain in Soul Campaign? Because Shibusen takes away super powers and weapons, Orihime will lose her pins, thus losing her powers to reject things. Other than those powers Orihime is just a ordinary human girl with no abnormal abilities that still remain somewhat natural compared to people like Ichigo. So, she will retain her human strength, endurance, and other abilities that she has only gained from her previous world through exercise, training, and learning.

What are the weaknesses that your character will lose or gain in Soul Campaign? Orihime as she is now will lose her “damsel in distress” persona. At first in Soul Campaign it will seem she is still having trouble but over time she will lost that trait and her powers will also be taken away. Orihime will gain from this world a darker outlook on fighting and wars. She will still remain her happy, collect self, but this world will only add on to her bitter memories from Hueco Muendo and the Winter War. So, when it comes to people dying around her- it will still be painful and she will partially always blame herself for not being strong enough yet.

Keeping the game’s premise in mind, please give us a brief explanation of your plans for your character in Soul Campaign.

(Brief is a lie apparently.) For Orihime, I want her to become stronger in the sense of not only strength but also as a person and to be able to take care of herself and not rely on others for help. She has so much potential to be so much better than how she is right now but she has had no chance to prove it because she was under the watchful eye of her friends until recently when Ichigo lost his powers and Orihime continued to train with Chad so she could protect him now instead of it being the other way around. For this new world, I believe it will strengthen Orihime to be a better fighter and become independent. I also plan on having Orihime go through all the dramatic fighting and get serious injured sometimes as well as feel powerless sometimes because she does not have her own Shun Shun Rikka with her.

[ MEISTER ONLY SECTION ]

Why your character should be a Meister: Orihime is a very gentle person, while she is not a fighter- she wants to protect those she cares about. She would do anything for them and would bravely charge into battle if it meant the safety of innocent people and her loved ones. She gladly took the risk when she left with Ulquirroa in turn to protect her friends.
